The TIM Division was formed in 1987 and now has over 3000 active members. These are topics where Professor Nelson has made his professional contributions. Our division celebrates excellence in research, teaching, and service by conferring a variety of awards. These include the best student paper, the best dissertation, and the best paper presented at the annual meeting. We also provide awards for the best reviewers who assist with the paper submission for the annual meeting.

Annually, we also honor emerging scholars with a young scholar award. We also have a Distinguished scholar award for senior scholars. As noted, Professor Nelson is the inaugural recipient of a new category of award -- the TIM division lifetime, achievement award.
