Please join us for a strategy-focused conversation on acquisitions, regulation, AI, and the evolution of digital markets.
As dominant platforms expand, industry boundaries become more fluid, and acquisitions of young, innovative firms attract greater antitrust scrutiny, fundamental questions are emerging about how competition and innovation should be governed. This panel symposium brings together four leading scholars in strategy and law to examine questions such as:
- Do technology acquisitions help scale innovation-or quietly absorb the next generation of competitors?
- Can existing antitrust frameworks keep pace with platform business models, general-purpose technologies, and AI-enabled coordination and price discrimination?
- How should antitrust evolve as firm and industry boundaries become increasingly fluid?
- Do regulatory and industrial-policy failures reflect an incomplete understanding of how modern firms create and capture value?
- What can comparisons between the Western and Chinese technology ecosystems reveal about the assumptions underlying technology regulation?
- How have China's restrictions on technology acquisitions, the EU's Digital Markets Act, and related regulatory regimes reshaped-or how might they reshape-M&A in the technology sector?
