The TIM executive committee held their annual mid-year meeting on January 20–21, 2023, convening virtually to plan the upcoming annual conference and coordinate the division's activities for 2023. A key item on the agenda was developing a strategic plan for the next three years. Maryann Feldman, the division chair from Arizona State University, expressed her gratitude to the committee members for their ongoing voluntary contributions. The goals set out in the previous five-year strategic plan, including establishing a research committee and increasing engagement with the community beyond the annual August meeting, were successfully accomplished. Looking ahead, the division's strategic priorities include expanding its geographic scope, engaging more mid-career scholars, and further enhancing its mid-year research meetings.
In the following, Reps-at-large Colleen Cunningham (University of Utah) and Maria Roche (Harvard Business School) provided updates on the junior faculty and doctoral student consortia, respectively. Hila Lifshitz-Assaf (University of Warwick) and Markus Perkmann (Imperial College) shared their plans for a joint research workshop with the Organization Science journal, scheduled for September. On the second day of the meeting, newly appointed webmaster Jermain Kaminski (Maastricht University) and division secretary and social media coordinator Paul Hünermund (Copenhagen Business School) discussed the division's communication strategy. Additional items on the agenda included the division's annual awards, plans for upcoming community networking events, and a report on the division's finances.
The TIM Division is seeking to secure new sponsorships to support a range of community activities during its upcoming annual meeting. Previous sponsorship agreements have expired between the two virtual meetings amidst the pandemic, and the division is eager to secure new partnerships. If you're interested in supporting the TIM Division's activities as a sponsor, we encourage you to reach out to the TIM Chair, Maryann Feldman, or Treasurer, Llewellyn Thomas.
