    Dear colleagues,

If you're attending AOM this year, please consider joining us for our panel symposium:

    Strategic Management of Information
    Tuesday, August 4 | 8:00–9:30 AM
    Pennsylvania Convention Center, Room 113B

Information has become one of firms' most valuable strategic assets, but also one of their greatest vulnerabilities. As AI, digital platforms, and new forms of inference reshape how information is created, shared, and appropriated, firms face increasingly complex choices about what to reveal, what to protect, and how to capture value.

This symposium introduces a first conversation on the Strategic Management of Information (SMI) framework, which focuses on the choices of codification and control and integrates research on disclosure, secrecy, intellectual property, information governance, and value capture into a common strategic perspective.

The panel will consist of the following scholars:

    • Sharon Belenzon (Duke University)
    • Rohin Borpujari (UCL)
    • Jeff Furman (Boston University)
    • Florence Honoré (University of Wisconsin-Madison)
    • Aldona Kapačinskaitė (INSEAD)
    • Mahka Moeen (University of Wisconsin-Madison)

Together, we'll discuss emerging research opportunities at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and information governance, and where we see this research agenda heading.

Whether your work focuses on innovation, competitive strategy, digital platforms, AI, intellectual property, information management, or organizational design, we hope you'll join the conversation.

We look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia!

    Best regards,
    Aldona Kapačinskaitė
