Dear colleagues,
We are excited to host a PDW on Rethinking Discourse Theory in the Digital Age at the Academy of Management conference in 2026.
Digital technologies are transforming how discourse is produced, circulated, amplified, and contested. As scholars, we face exciting opportunities - and significant challenges - in theorizing and studying discourse across platforms, algorithms, AI-generated content, and large-scale digital environments.
This interactive PDW will feature:
- A keynote from leading discourse scholar Loizos Heracleous
- A methods tutorial on studying discourse across digital platforms with a custom AI-powered social listening platform - Arbiter
- Small research roundtables for developmental feedback facilitated by Shaila Miranda
- Networking opportunities with leading scholars across CTO, TIM, OMT, and related communities
Participants can choose to present working papers and paper ideas in the roundtable session and receive feedback from distinguished mentors to advance their research. Submissions are welcome from scholars at all career stages. Abstracts should be submitted as a PDF or Word document via this form.
We look forward to building a vibrant community of scholars exploring discourse, technology, and organizing in the digital age.
