AOM 2026 PDW: Does Organizational Learning (Still) Need Human Superpowers: What Next for Organizational Learning Theories?
This year's PDW is the second in the series of "What's Next for Organizational Learning Theories". This interactive PDW will debate and discuss whether and how future learning theories should consider additional bases of learning in organizations that expand beyond our current shared meanings and knowing-related practices. As more advanced agentic technologies make inroads into organizations, what human capabilities become ever more critical and are now often underemphasized in collective learning? How should organizational learning theories develop to better include both advanced technology and human contribution? How do we theoretically and methodologically capture human-machine learning in ways that integrate the varieties of learning between humans and artificial intelligence in organizations?
